I am a qualified SpLD assessor based in Essex and Hertfordshire. Having trained initially as a primary school teacher, I worked for five years in mainstream primary schools before undertaking further qualifications and being employed by Fairley House School for seven years as a specialist teacher for children with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD.
Fairley House School is London's leading day school for children with specific learning difficulties and during my time there I worked with numerous children with specific learning difficulties to identify their needs, support them and ultimately help them to achieve their full potential.
I am now working as a private assessor, specialist teacher, consultant and mentor for children and adults with specific learning difficulties.
I am a qualified secondary school teacher with nearly twenty years of experience teaching English (both Language and Literature), Media and Film Studies. During my school career my teaching was consistently graded as outstanding by Ofsted, and I developed a passion for encouraging all students to achieve their full potential, with my students' results often placing amongst the best in the country for the progress they made across KS4 and KS5.
I have been Head of English and Head of Year at three different secondary schools, culminating in my most recent role at my fourth school as Assistant Headteacher with school-wide responsibility for Teaching & Learning and Curriculum where the school was graded "Outstanding" for Teaching & Learning in its Ofsted Inspection in Autumn 2024. Across these varied and wide-ranging leadership roles, I have delivered school-wide training sessions, educational conferences and custom CPD programmes for teachers with the vision of improving the quality of teaching and support for all students but particularly those with learning difficulties.
Having stepped away from the classroom at Easter 2025, I am now working as a consultant, administrator and mentor for children and adults with specific learning difficulties.
