Every staff-member in every nursery, preschool, school or university is united behind the common purpose of enabling every individual in their care to learn and better their opportunities in life.
In today's progress-driven, assessment-based education climate and the competitive job market beyond, the need to ensure that no student is left behind is of paramount importance to the students, their parents and their school. For all students, this represents challenge enough, but what about those students with a specific learning difficulty?
Every setting will have numerous individuals with at least one specific learning difficulty. Whilst many professionals have heard of the more common SpLD's, knowing how best to support the children and young adults in their care and enable them to reach their potential is often a real challenge. Finding the time to research all the specific learning difficulties present in your cohort and then differentiate the implementation of your curriculum accordingly can be overwhelming in a workplace that often finds staff already under an enormous time pressure. Knowing how to advise and resource the teaching of your staff can be equally overwhelming to the Senior and Middle Leadership Teams.
Having worked at Fairley House, the leading London day school for children with SPLD's across Key Stage 1-4, for 7 years, I have a wealth of experience at planning, delivering and assessing a varied and challenging curriculum for learners of all ages and ability levels with a wide range of SPLD's.
My services enable those in all educational settings to gain insight into a wide variety of SpLD's and learn how best to support children and young adults with SpLD's within each individual setting to access your curriculum in the best way for their individual learning needs. I will work with you to create an INSET that can best support your staff. Sessions can be for the entire staff, leadership team or a small group of relevant staff members.
